Where Spui meets Kalvermarkt, a building that was simply waiting to be torn down has now been replaced by Amadeus – an inner city redevelopment that has given The Hague city centre a remarkable boost. The first, second and third floors (8,000 m2) of this prime location are occupied by Primark, using the 9-metre high facade covered with glass and stone to gain maximum exposure for their Dutch flagship store. Above this, 36 owner-occupied homes and 40 rental apartments, adjacent to a green inner garden, are divided over eleven floors. A parking garage is located underneath the complex.
